This is one of those albums that will probably hold a place in your heart as one of those albums that you speak of with a special twinkle coming from your tooth or somewhere unlikely like that.
Not many people should hear this album at one time, but if you're one of those people for whom things like twee pop, being daft, ski sweaters and vespas represent a lifestyle choice for you, you should probably rush out and buy anything you can by mum. If you don't see a considerable difference between the field mice and isan you'll probably find a space for mum.
As mum develops in their "songwriting" I'm not sure if the in the pocket preciousness of this album will be retained.
Keep this one around, you'll be glad you did.

I think this is a record to investigate if you want something relaxing or something quite uplifting. To me its a understated genius of work. There is really something about icelandic music sometimes, no matter how simple the piece is, it can be marvellous. The music in the album sounds remotely like a child's melody yet they still manage to pull it off very well without sounding bad atall!
The closest thing i could think of to compare this to would be to mellow work by Apex twin. The subtle samples and sometimes the cut and paste effect of the drums and percussion are fairly similar to some of the apex twin's mellow work. Mum themselves, state that their album is 'morning. Sunny. Biclcling.' I would really reccomend to investigate Mum if you are more interesting in a low tempo, alternative, intelligent piece of electronic work. Thumbs up from me!!!
