Listing items for sale on Discogs is always free. You only pay a 8% fee when your items sell.
More than 4 million people look for music on Discogs every month. Selling here gets you instant exposure to our high traffic.
No need to type up detailed item descriptions. The info is already here. Discogs users are auto-notified when items they want are listed.
So where's it at? For me one day I stumbled upon Discogs. I needed space in my house for stuff, so I decided to digitalise my vinyl and sell it to make more room for more stuff (What is Stuff?). It really did not take much time at all to realize this site was different and soon started selling my tunes to like minded people who would also appreciate the tunes I had spent many hours of fun enjoying. I love the way its users can add any piece of music and become part of what I think will become the most amazing music site of all. Its ease of use & locating any track, and the information it provides is just Mind Blowing. Things have just gone from there, picking up several well known DJ collections and adding them here.
I want to thank the innovators of this site for such an open and inspirational idea! Big Love to the Ogs Staff & Ogs Community x

I just wanted to say thanks for the system you have provided, which allows sellers to show their inventory to the world for free.
I have run my online store since 1998, and seen the marketplace change and evolve completely. Around 2005 my business started to ebb away from my own website, and I found I had no choice but to put my stocks on eBay to compensate for the loss in business.
Steadily eBay found new ways of extracting money from sellers, whilst giving little in return. Many days I questioned how could i leave ebay, and find a new way of selling my records.
I think I have found the answer. I've only added about 1000 titles to discogs so far, and every day I am seeing new orders. This enables me to leave eBay behind, my money no longer needs to fill their shareholders pockets. Instead, my fees are going to be coming your way! And for the first time, with any 3rd party site, I am actually delighted I am giving you a share of my revenue.
I can't give you enough praise and thanks. Please thank all your staff members for doing a great job. I really appreciate your service.
All the best

The rise of Discogs Marketplace has given me an invaluable opportunity to switch from a part time hobby into a records re-selling business in 2007. It is easy to use and when you have any query, the staff in Portland have always been very helpful. Unlike Ebay or other selling sites, Discogs is a community, together with other users, we often work together on issues or tune fining the latest features.
Large portion of items that we sell are already accurately submitted by other users onto the database, so you only have to grade, price and describe your items well to attract a sale. It is unbelievable such reliable service, fantastic support and freedom comes at such low cost (8% of each item final price when sold). Also Discogs Marketplace gives a much better indication of records value with its wantlist and sales history features, so you will never undersold a gem!
Keep it up!
Since I started selling regularly on Discogs, I have found my sales have increased dramatically, especially my dance related items. However, Discogs is more than about dance music of course, and I also sell a lot of indie rock and experimental items. In comparison to the other sites I sell on, it's my favorite for several reasons:
Long live Discogs!
The Discogs Marketplace has totally blitzed eBay, so much that we no longer use it all. Unlike eBay there is always help via email, and the site seems to not benefit the buyer over the seller or vice versa, but is simply a sensible marketplace to buy or sell on. As a seller we love the accuracy and detail that each item has for sale, thus the buyer knows exactly what they're going to be receiving which makes our job more satisfying.
Discogs seems to be continually evolving with new features and like our own database is branching out into all genres of music. If it continues to help internet record diggers find releases or certain mixes tucked away in our warehouse then it gets the thumbs up from us.
The Discogs Marketplace has made it possible to resurrect our music retail sales. It was a struggle selling on eBay due to the final value fees and monthly charges just to list our items. Traffic here is without question a major part of our revenue and to our bottom line. Free to list and 8% to sell? You can't beat that!
The simplicity of the web interface for both the front and back office for a
huge inventory such as ours is paramount. We can delete, export, import and add
titles with relative ease. Customer Service is very responsive and friendly.
Since Discogs is more of a community than a corporate entity, they have made us
feel that we have some autonomy and input on how we conduct business. There is
also a plethora of information in the forums from how to improve sales to
repairs. I and my staff are grateful for what you have done for us. You guys
rock!
