VECKATIMEST: The album that really helped Grizzly Bear explode. Their careful songwriting is on full display right as "Southern Point" goes from gentle to a full-on explosion, while "All We Ask" suggests the sweetness of 50s musicals. "Dory" brings in some fish-based romance and delicacy, and "Ready, Able" takes a waltz time signature for a lovely, spinning turn. "I Live With You" continues to play with loud-soft dynamics as it swells with a soft chorus in the background and occasional string builds before "Foreground" takes the album out on a moody note. But it's the Beach Boys-like sunniness of "Two Weeks" that really put them on the map and garnered them plenty of attention. The bonus disc compiles a number of their live sessions, with them taking their tracks in a lo-fi direction, adding a touch of funk to "Southern Point" while stripping "All We Ask" to its acoustic basics, as "Two Weeks" gets drenched in echo. All in all, an album that earns its accolades.

Great album.
A bit disappointed though, my copy sounds a bit "flat"..
