Darude ‎– Sandstorm

It's big, it's brash, and it's loved and loathed in equal measures.

To its detractors, this is simply too euphoric and euro for their liking.

Those who love it will point to its tour de force energy levels.

In truth, despite containing all the usual euro trance staples - i.e. big breakdown, huge riffs, and snares, the Original Mix is never really cheesy, and actually has a unique sound. The result is a track that will have those who love it bouncing about deliriously.

Also look out for the superb 'cooler than thou' promo video which accompanied this release.

Sandstorm (DJ Ray a.k.a. Tom Hafman Remix):

DJ Ray's take on Sandstorm is an interesting one. He starts off with a hard pounding beat and adds a few hints of the original song before building his own catchy little riff. From here the familar old Sandstorm sound is added.
Eventually the slamming beat returns and the Sandstorm sound is sliced up to fit in better.

It's a pretty cool remix in the end. While it certainly isn't revolutionary (and if you're thoroughly sick of the original, you'll probably hate it), it's interesting. Gives Sandstorm a hard trance edge.

This is Darude's first single and quite a chart topper! I have the Gold Edition of this album with the same remixes. Being such a huge trance classic, I'm surprised that there are no remixers for this track (JS16 is Darude). I would've loved to hear what Above & Beyond, Pulsedriver, or Wippenberg would do with this track. This is a great track, but I still prefer Feel the Beat.
