The first track EARTH is a revelation! Worth the price alone. Musicians moving along into a frenzy. Bass is punching your stomach, drums hit you like machine guns, piano rolling all over you. GREAT!

This is EST's masterpiece. Somewhere beneath the drones and swirls, and the glitches and silences, lies the true spirit of jazz - truly experimental and wildly ambitious - without paying any un-necessary regards to surrounding climates. 'Leucocyte' is not only unlike any of EST's other works, it is quite unlike anything ventured into before in jazz - a true mediation between pasts and futures which will undoubtedly, albeit slowly, ascend to classic status. 'Leucocyte' commands your attention and demands repeated listening. This album is not only an overwhelming testiment to Esbjorn Svensson's superb talent and progressive thinking, but also a reminder of what a great loss his recent death is to European Jazz.
