The first song starts off with piano and when the band falls in you're in for a ride of twelve amazingly crafted original songs. The music appears simple by using the less is more technique, the drums are quite offbeat and occasionally they use trumpet and trombone which is quite odd for this music. But does it work? Hell yeah! The lyrics breath romanticism and it suits the music very good ("you might need me more than you think you will" from Brainy: what a line! simple but o so effective). When you're in love or heartbroken this album is the soundtrack for your very own lovestory: just listen to Slow Show my favourite track: "I wanna hurry home to you and put on a slow show for you" and "you know I dreamed about you for 29 years...". Very romantic stuff but don't all men tend to become emotional when a lady is involved? Yep, we sure do!
All in all a great release; one of the best albums of 2007 imo.The new album is scheduled for early May 2010. I'm looking forward to it.
If you want something different for your aural pleasure this album comes highly recommended. 5/5
