Hi Tool and vinyl fans.

Recently I bought the tool Lateralus record. When I opened it there was the c/d-side record twice inside. It still was in the original shrink and was sealed.

My question: is this a mispress version?

My copy of this pressing is not a mispress. Just thought I'd share that.

Make no mistake, this is, perhaps, the most awesome compilation of music ever created!

Tool invites the listener to a journey, an emotional rollercoster. Be prepared, pack your bags and strap in. Let the world go, turn off the lights, put them Sennheiser headphones on, crank that s*it to eleven and Goooooooooo!

The structure and mood of the tracks are best described by the middle part - a parabola, an inverse one (a negative K before the x^2 if you know what I mean). Grudge, Patient and Schism deal with the negative spectrum of human emotion, as is charesteristic to tool lyrics, topics about the bad in people is just as pervasive as the mythologically transcendent. Parabola, however, begins the second part of the album, a more energic one, more bright, hopeful, shifting. Lateralus is, in my humble opinion, the best track (just slightly better than the awesome rest though) on the album. In the tradition of the great masters of old (think greek poets), Lateralus is a fractal recreation of the whole album in itself, an odyssey of growth, strife and achievement. Reflection and Triad tie the album up nicely and the silence at the very end serves as a poetical interlude of koanic proportions, the sound of silence, eternal peace.

I can say with absolute certainty, that no matter how many times you listen to this album, it will never seem "hear before" and will always calm the mind if not deliver a profound emotional revelation.

Nuff said, 6/6

It is very nice to find something you photoshopped and spent countless hours trying to reproduce the slip cover listed as the official picture for discogs on this album.

The music itself is simply breathtaking. I can't wait to listen to it again. Turn off the lights, light some candles, and just lay down and take it in. The important part is to not overthink the album. Don't listen to all of these crazy theories about it. By the end of the album, you'll have the desire to listen again. Recommended 100%.

I would say that this album never bored me, not even the first time I heard it. And in fact it only took one time of hearing this album to know that I love it. Not only does this album present a gigantic amount of talent, but it also captivates a whole world of depth in both music and lyrics.

At your first listen, the songs might seem chaotic, boring and without any real dynamics, but when you start to understand the songs, this album becomes a gigantic beauty of sound! All the complex arrangements couldn't be better than they are, and all the way through, they seem to keep the listener focused on the music, together with Maynards outstanding vocal peformance!
Now thats a great record!
