Beatnigs, The ‎– The Beatnigs

Warning: this disc is suffering from CD rot (bronzing in colour, resulting in audio corrosion, eg: crackle, etc), on the inside edge, you will see that its manufactured in the UK by: PDO, now this problem affected nearly all CD'S manufactured By PDO between 1988 - 1992, of course PDO were very aware of this ongoing issue, and even had a replacement service operating, unfortunately, this service ceased to operate in November 2006. We have now contacted Alternative Tentacles Records to see if they could help replace their product, but not even a reply, which is quite disappointing, as not sure what year, but they reissued the manufacture of this Disc through Mordam Records (USA) and allegedly, used a faulty PDO copy (this listing version) as the Master for the new issue, hence their discs look fine, no bronzing, etc, but also produce severe audio crackle, I'm currently trying to get some sort of reparation from them, but yeah, probably just pissing in the wind!
So finally, a word of warning to all collectors with the Original PDO version, all 'Beatnig', self titled released CD'S have this problem, and if yours hasn't now, then it will develop this fault soon, as it basically reacts when the Disc is subjected to the atmosphere. go here for more details: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disc_rot
