What can I say about this highly experimental opera/electronic soundscapes recording? It was very moody, and it sounded more like a nature walk or a documentary on a rare bird that plays synthesizers underground. In an age where techno "artists" boast how dirty their 'electro' is, you cannot find more earthy tones and rustles than on this release. The intro alone makes me feel like they've literally set my brain on fire as they play me music, and these are the sounds that I'm translating. This recording is the kind of music you would find me listening to in later life in my rocking chair in the insane asylum. At times, the music is downright sentimental, in particular the alt. vocal edition of "Annie's Box," which sounds like it could be used in the 2020 remake of Schindler's List. Most of the pieces sound like you pressed play on an Italian opera track and accidently dropped your iPod dock into a blender. I enjoyed the quality of the thunderous lows that are being used by the electronics here, but ultimately, I wouldn't just throw this music on for an entertaining night with friends.
