REAL 1st Press of this album was came with WHITE Coloured Obi(not Green).

This is a truely great and inspiring album. There are great reggie, ska and pop songs to be found on this album, showing a variety that many other bands of the era would not be able to acheive. The production is of high quality and with a good few standout tracks. The relentless guitar and pounding bass create a great basis for Strummer's snarl. This is all in all a good album and confirms The Clash as one of the great bands.

If this was a compilation this would get a 5 (and the music is a 5), but this was CBS executives deciding how the US should hear The Clash's debut. It wasn't until 1999 that the proper debut was easily available and affordable in the states because of this domineering release!

Not to mention most of the substituted tracks on here don't belong because of production and song writing. Jail Guitar Doors and I Fought The Law esp. stick out like sore thumbs. Still, this is a good sampling of their early work and it was my introduction to them (after London Calling and Rock The Casbah) and it left me wanting more. So, clearly it did its job.
