Chemical Brothers, The ‎– Hey Boy Hey Girl

Often hated on by (Belgian) new beat fans but this tune uses the original song 'I Sit On Acid' by Lords Of Acid in a very creative manner and it did came out BEFORE the 'I Sit On Acid 2000' version. It does however also steal some ideas off the 'Funky Shell Toes' EP by a certain bloke named Armand Van Helden. A classic record in its own right nonetheless.

I know that probably is the favourite song of some of you. But when I listen this song I feel absolutely disappointed. It was really vulgar. Ok, it's not bad for dance, but I feel bored while I was listening it. When I listen "Surrender" I was even more disappointed. For me was stupid and boring.

In my opinion (you don't have to share it) 1999 was a very poor year for the chemical brothers at the cretive level.

The worst thing of "Hey girl Hey boy" it is that: when it seems that it's going to become an interesting song, due to a rythm change, the song finishes!

Probably could be the single that sold the biggest number of copies, but in my opinion is really bad. In the other hand the video it's really good. So, if you are thinking in buying it, try to get the french edition that comes with the video.
