Killing Joke ‎– Absolute Dissent

Behemoth's recent cover of "Total Invasion" should have been added too.
I like that version they recorded on the Japanese version of Evangelion.

The album itself is superb! Bonus disc is rather boring without respect of persons.
So, standard edition would be enough almost for everybody, IMO.

Classic Killing Joke CD, however the production quality ranges from poor to ok. The drums are muddy, cymbals distorted on the majority of tracks. I want to listen to this more because I think there is some great stuff going on here, but the mixing and clarity really fatigues my ears after the first 4 tracks. The tracks would do so much better if Jaz's vocals were upfront more and the rhythm section wasn't so washed out. I heard some MP3s of tracks from this CD pre-release and attributed the sound quality to being MP3s, but the released CD isn't any better.

Note: If you have any kind of psychoacoustic or surround sound settings on while listening to this, it makes it sound horrible. Shut it off and things sound better.

Appropiate comeback in all sense of the word/form, this album its utterly impressive and powerful, it has the quality & strength it absolutely demanded for making an excellent apparition on the public after such a long time behind wings by its high standards, technique & development.Its quite noticeable how they preserve the characteristic band's sound,almost like condensing every single detail from their most famous albums and then reconciliating it with a modern touch that could have slight deeds with the densest & heaviest part of power pop & metalcore yet not so intricate and with space for chops of bassy disco funkyness, gelid synth pop lines, striking punk chords & absolutely sticky rhythms and chorus lines that adhere to your mind like stamps in your face. This is the kind of album that will remain in the head of the listener for weeks,humming each track with equal delight & spinning relentlessly on the stereo. Another thing worth mention is that this comeback its somehow magic, the readiness of the record & its apparition in the catastrophic times of economical wasteland somehow pays some tyrannical tribute to those times when the band was dedicated to bash in and out the baddest sides from the eighties. The K-Jokes come with acidic tongues ready to wipe with fatigued cynicism & poignant sarcasm the state of our fatal world order.
