Surprised no one had mentioned Laurent Garnier's remix here positively (ignore that user below who probably never went to a club in his life). This remix is a breath of fresh air. The opening beat less is memorable. The way this track is not only techno but in a way house, but at a trance pace is pretty cool. That's the brilliance in Laurent Garnier at work. One of his best remixes. The Detroit melody build is great. Good memories

Not at all like later commercial-ized Moby releases, Alt.Quiet.Version is an unsettling listen. It isn't particularly ambient (as in background music, or as some pastoral techno term) but rather isolationist. Bits of melody appear in snatches, but mostly what you get is washes of sound; strange listening indeed, but there is much to be mined here. Too bad Moby neglected to follow this less-beaten path ...

the "this is my dream" mix, track 1, is sort of fast paced, but not like his electro mixes. the orchestral sounds, to be quite blunt, are cheesy and sound like crap. also the entire song is really annoying, with moby saying "this is my dream". the sampled chant/choirs do sound good. I do not know how this mix sounds anything like the album version. "All that i need is to be loved" H.O.S. mix is the same as the ablum version, a punk rock moby singing and guitarring over some strange electronic sounds. If this song is a joke its a funny one. track 3, the "euro edit" is like a melodic version of the fist mix, and a bit more ambient with less obtursive sounds. After five minutes of the track it stops and turns into the album version on the same track, a peacful, soothing mix of the song. the last track "laurent's wake up edit" is extremely repetitive, it sample about a 7 sec orchestral synth for 8 minutes, it takes much patience to listen to the whole thing.
