referencing Yes, LP, 588 190

More than competent Psych-Rock introducing the diminutive ever present figure of Jon Anderson channelling mother divine through still yet thick Lancastrian tongue. Eee, fair bit of mediocrity through Kaye’s dumb organ amidst the bright spots of Chris Squire’s high end bass guitar and choir mouth with ruffled posh-lad Bill Bruford kickin’ the jazz. ‘I See You’ is about the 1968 equivalent of Aphex Twin remixing R.E.M where as ‘Yesterday & Today’ and ‘Sweetness’ lull you into a Hazy Jane pre-emptive flutter. All this before ‘Survival’ psyches you with a riff the experience would be envious of – ‘an egg too proud to rape, the shape of things to come’, yes? A-
