The Congos – Heart Of The Congos

Very good original UK Press of the first Reissue of this Killer outside Jamaica, this is the 2nd mix (1978) of this album... Sound really good but very short tracks ! (thanks to eggmart for the demo !)
The French Reissue came the same year with longer tracks but apparently not with the same quality... If anyone can confirm ?
...This piece of history has never been Repress on vinyl with the (out of price) Original JA 1st mix except the rare 2017 RE Heart Of The Congos which was only released in 500 copy ! Reggae Business in babylon !! What a shame for a pure Rasta album... Upsetter style !!!

Wonderful sound on this version : good separation and dynamic, lot of bass, voices are very clear... Lucky to grab a copy of this magnificent album!

The greatest roots reggae album, and this is the version to own (if you can find it). Blood & Fire reissued some great music, but none finer than this. It's a phenomenal pressing, capturing Scratch's production in all its murky glory. After years of hearing the CD, it's interesting to hear how much more full and warm the low end sounds on vinyl. I heard the 2022 VP vinyl reissue at a friend's house last week, and it's not bad, but I prefer these longer, more fleshed out mixes, and it's hard to top the remastering on this version. The VP release just didn't seem to have the same richness in the soundscape. Can't recommend this album highly enough if you're seeking out the deep roots...it's a beautiful, hypnotic and enchanting album.

I have one whive black one side and green other side label anyone now if this is normaal.
Are there more records whive this 2 couleur label?

Great Album, but LOW QUALITY PRESS? Did they just take an original Jamaican press and copy it with years of wear and worn grooves and repress that? WTF? What a La La Bum Bum Bummer!
