A great album of eclectic pop and psychedelia in the spirit of Love, Paul Weller, and The Dream Academy. His other band, Deerhunter, has a very different sound with more of a rock base. Get the CD though. The vinyl pressing was a huge fail. Wish I could find a clean copy, but what I have sounds like the stampers were severely contaminated with someone's half-eaten lunch, of maybe just dropped and kicked across the factory floor. Either way, it's just not listenable. Bradford Cox is however, IMO, an under-rated pop-genius. This album is full of hooks, dreamy lyrics, and dark psychedelic tunnels that run through, around, and under this gorgeous collection of pop jewels. Easily one of the best albums of 2011.
