- I love this record but “I Am Damo Suzuki” is worth the price of admission by itself. Haunting, disjointed and demented. The main riff reminds me of “Falling” by Flipper from the Live At Target LP.
- I keep upvoting the album sleeve and downvoting the sticker, but some trainspotter on here believes that a picture of a sticker should be the main photo of this record and changes it right back. Help me out, people!
- Edited one year agoI neither love nor hate the Fall... yet!! I got baited by Mark E. Smith's Pavement diss stating that they sound like a carbon copy of the Fall during this era. I do disagree with his assessment, but through investigation I discovered this ripper album and for that I am grateful! Was very happy to get a great sounding copy of it on the cheap. Packaging is a bit underwhelming though I must say.. As fearandwhiskey stated, a gatefold would have been lovely.
EDIT 24/03/23, I love the Fall and they are the best group ever and Mark E. Smith is God - If you don't care about the packaging and are getting it strictly for the sound and music, you will not be disappointed. Sounds crisp, live, dynamic and solid on the lows. Like you're hanging out in the studio when they were recording it!
- Gorgeous pressing. Was a little put off that the discs aren't in a gatefold but entirely separate LP sleeves... Doesn't matter in the end, it sounds phenomenal.
- It does sound fantastic. Wish they would have replicated the original gatefold jacket, though. Seems like a missed opportunity with the last great album from the early Fall period.
