There are also a lot of local Special Editions with alternate "fire" cover in jewel case.
The Jewel Case version with printed "mad fruit" cover is very rare and available only in a few countries.

This release comes in a unique and beautiful package but the tracklists are incorrect. There are many mistakes, songs that are not actually on the cd and therefor other songs twice.
E.g. Dull flame of desire is missing and Triumph of a heart three times present.
Furthermore some lyrics in the booklet are not the original lyrics from Björk. (e.g. Wanderlust)

Oh no, it's the Bjork many of us don't like, again! Volta is just a bunch of noises, distorted sounds, out of tune, melody. I understand artists should evolve, Bjork certainly has the talent to move forward but with this new release I bet she is going the other way. If you haven't been into Bjork, this is deffinitely not the album to get into her. I miss the pre-Medulla Bjork. I miss her so much.

Her voice always sucked or annoyed for its best part - but that's the beauty of it. It is just amazing how Bjork can actually repeat herself musically and always sounding different. With every next album she pushed away the boundaries, whether her own or musically speaking, putting together producers and musicians alike that usually bare absolutely zero resemblance among themselves; Anthony, Timbaland, Mark Bell, various brass sections, etc.

'Volta' is another masterpiece and many saying so aren't exaggerating. Of course, it all depends, how much you truly admire Bjork's twisted electronics without feeling endangered by her usual vocal acrobatics.

To my mind Bjork is one of the artists which is constantly growing up mentally, so you can hear it in her music, voice, samples, loops , in her musicians, videos.
Don't you forget that her music - is an experiment in all means?
Bjork is kinda unique in that way - her every album is not like previous one, it's another page in a great part of music history.

Volta represents all Earth nations, it's cultures, traditions. And I think the previous comment was a comment of a person, who wasn't interested in getting equainted with all that variety of beatiful things.

Volta is absolutely great album, and don't forget to be patient - you possibly wouldn't understand its message at first, just listen to it for few more times. It's Bjork - remember?

I've lost contact with Bjork around the Homogenic/DITD season. With the following Vespertine and Medulla I have realized I was no longer interested in her music craft, which has reached unbearable levels of eclectism and stylishness. Volta is the same story - the voice of Bjork is outstanding and masterful as always, but it's being thrown into multiple, strange, complicated, and too 'brainy' musical environments that makes this pop just too ambitious and intense - which is awful. And the overexposure of Antony is getting really annoying.
