It's not GU New York, Oslo, or the Goa Mix, that's for sure. If you're expecting a mix to rival his other hallmark releases, then you will be disappointed. This CD lacks any sort of direction or theme, it draws too heavily on the trance mix formula; that is, play anthem after anthem. It tries to be cute and creative with the inclusion of tracks from Vangelis and Lisa Gerrard but this doesn't work as well as it did when he did a similar thing in his Goa mix. It's forced and out of place.

This album and it's fraternal twin "Travelling" were both released near to each other with similar track listings, and alternate mixes of the same track. "Another World" was sold to the North American audience, whereas "Travelling" was geared towards the UK and European audiences. "Another World" is more experimental with it's inclusion of film score tracks (Vangelis from Bladerunner) and rock remixes.
