"No Other" is one of these majestuous desperate yet supremely cosmic 70s masterpieces, mixing country, folk, with hints of soul and blues (Chris Bell's "I Am The Cosmos" is another example, yet less 'californian' in the vibe). So i will go straight to the point : standing upon the rest of a remarkably dense and stunning album, "Some Misunderstanding" is one of the greatest, most heartbreaking and desperate, epic country-soul ballads of the 1970s. Gene Clark was always considered one of the unsung heroes of the 60s and 70s, a true, gifted fallen angel, and this is one of the reasons why. Sublime!
(and the 6 extra 'Alternate versions', more loose and spontaneous, included in the 2003 German CD reissue definitely add value content).
