I saw Rush live two nights in a row during this tour, in New York City. Despite the fact that they played the same set both nights (very close to the track list on this release), the concerts were AWESOME. Rush are just a consummate live band -- all three of the members are such good musicians that when they have a chance to let loose, improvise, and work off each other in a concert setting, the results usually blow away the album versions. Even when they play close to the studio versions, the sound is just tighter, faster, and more energetic.

This album was recorded when they were, IMHO, at the peak of their songwriting excellence, coming right off the 'Moving Pictures' album. For any Rush fan who has not heard them live, please get this gem. In fact, you could buy this and 'All The World's A Stage' and then you'd have basically a live "Greatest Hits" of their material from their beginnings up through 'Moving Pictures.' If you can live with the less-than-perfect sound quality (even on this remastered CD), I bet you will find yourself listening to this more than the studio albums of the period.
