Einstuerzende Neubauten* ‎– Haus Der Luege

This is probably one of the most accessible albums from this band. Originally recorded for Some Bizzare in the eighties, it has been re-released by both the band and the original label. The stand-out tracks on the album, for me, are ‘Haus der Luge’ and ‘Fiat Lux’. The album was recorded at the legendary Hansa studio in Berlin, alongside Gareth Jones who at the time was recording with other acts including Depeche Mode. The album cover always stands out amongst the bands other releases due to its red horse woodcut.

One of the more accessible cd's by Neubauten. Has "feurio!" on it which is quite a stomper. Outstays it's welcome on this 47 minute cd a bit with three versions of itself appearing here. The other (albeit short) tracks which make this a worthwhile effort are a bit less dance oriented and a bit more... creative.

One of their best albums ever, melting electronics, noise, melody and elegant arrengements. "Feurio!" is one of my favourite EN tracks, while "Fiat Lux" stands out among their most ambitious works.

I bought my version of Haus Der Luege at a concert in Aarhus, Denmark in 1989. Some guy was sitting on the counter, when the guy asked me whether I wanted him to sign the record copy, I discovered it was F.M. Einheit - and replied: Well, yes please :-)
