Another one of cEvin Key's 'electronic jam bands' this time more focused on dancey beats, hazy synths, and trancey zone-out rhythms. The album starts off with a lovely intro that clears all the thoughs from your mind. Then with "noorderlight" the beats are pretty much non-stop throughout the entire album. You can still hear Key's signature percussion work within the foggy synths. Watch your subwoofers with the track "Urban Chillage" which is pretty much just seriously low bass frequencies, but one of the best tracks on the album. A couple more favorites from the album include "Chateau Plateau" and "Purple Passion." For an optimum listening experience, I definitely recommend getting your hands on some of what these guys were on when they recorded this album improvisationally.
interesting album, combining darkness and punk. i would call it techno-punk-style. minimal rhythms, excellent effects, surprising event-turns. good work, very familiar to my heartprint.
