I first heard some tunes from this ep while listening to the V103 jams around 1994 in Baltimore, Dj Frankski was on the wheels for 2 hours non-stop every saturday night...Playing all the best tunes chicago, detroit & NY had to offer at the time. But Frankski had his own personal touch though, not only his mixing was flawless and entertaining, cutting up and jungling into beats Wizzard style, his selection relied heavily on the local House productions (Called now "the Baltimore sound")..Among others Sagat "luvstuff" or Frankski's Own "Doo Doo Brown" were big tunes at the time and would get included very often, but you'd never hear more than 30 or 45 seconds of them, sometimes the intro or acapella was just dropped over a bridge to spice up a classic.

The mix(ing) structure plays a very important part in the definition of the "Baltimore Sound", slightly less repetitive than Usual House Music it often is built like a song and features verses or bridges or such parts where the audience could actually join in or get busier..House calls etc..

This ep sums it all up: Minimal & tight production, you rarely hear more than three sounds at once. Heavy use of the Classic drum break loops, boomy 4/4 kicks & ultra silly street speak samples retriggered and re-arranged in a catchy way. You rarely hear more than three sounds at once.

This is what Baltimore sound is all about really, somewhere ghetto but still funny & fresh, where Chicago banging house collides with Bass Music, Hip & Gogo House

The perfect party tool if you don't mind the silly & random B'more slang loops, i Don't.
