Crocodile is probably the best track on Oblivion With Bells so only fitting it gets its dedicated single. However I'm a bit split on this release. First of all the LP Version of Crocodile has a 2 minute extension that consists of nothing but a sort of bland synth loop repeating the entire time, rather than the lush, ambient outros Underworld is known for, or even just an extended techno section which would have been helpful for DJ's. That said it's still a great track, no denying that, just an odd choice for the outro. As for the remixes. The Pete Heller remix is actually pretty damn good. Tasteful, well produced and a fun track to play. Good enough to have ended up on the album as a bonus track even. The Oliver Huntemann remixes however are disappointing. Both are unchallenging, predictable minimal tracks that just don't have that special something. It's impossible to escape that minimal-electro-house sound these days, but what makes it worse for me is the fact that these are remixes for Underworld, one of the deities of dance music. That more than anything calls for a little more zest to your recipe. On the bright side, at least you get two solid, intelligent dancefloor tracks here, so all is not lost.
