Anyone who has ever been a fan of Martin and his alias of the Speed Freak should have this boxset in their collection. Although 4 records is just not enough to give an example of the huge amount of tracks that Martin has produced under this name.Records 1-3 are mainly from the early days of monotone and are excellent hardcore tracks before the Speed Freak started to sample happy hardcore around 94-95 and comes across as serious hardcore music although Martin himself had said it was poking a bit of fun at the hardcore scene in general and did not expect to be so popular. Record 4 is a remix record of 3 tracks from the destruction by speed album which are very much in the vain of shockwave artists, speedcore remixes.
Track 4 on this record(no remix at all) being my favourite track on this one. As in the title Martin says 'same motherf**ker that i ever was' restoring faith in his fans that he still is hardcore through and through and will never change. The track also uses a rap throughout out and is a perfect example of the genius that is Martin Damm.
