Both sides are fantastic DJ tools, with the A side, Hunter, being the standout. It has a really loud and groovy bass line, but its main treat is that its a real builder! It deviates from the standard present state of the art minimal formula of no more than three sound patterns taking turns for nine minutes and wandering off to nowhere. Martin Buttrich has more than once proved to be a master in orchestrating smooth and very effective climaxes (just think of Full Clip, Cloudy Bay...) with quite simple sonic structures, which makes his tracks instantly recognizible!
On the flip side we have Hunted, which is more of a run of the mill minimal tech house track, with superflous, but I admit very catch vocals, which should just about do the trick during any given party.
All in all, an above average 12", where Martin proves that hes not a one trick pony, and that Full Clip was not just a random moment of inspiration. Lets hope he keeps his great work up. The A side wins out, but Im being really nit picky here, as both tracks are two steps ahead of 95% of club orientated minimal music out there.
