Data derived from cosmological activity as recorded by NASA's deep space network.

Sources for cosmological activity utilized include:
pulsars, quasars, thermal radiation, synchroton radiation, electron particle interaction, radio galaxies, remains of supernova explosions, and background radiation.

This activity is monitored by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory installation at Pasadena California, the command center of NASA's deep space probes. Communication is maintained via the deep space network, a series of radio telescopes located at Goldstone California, Madrid Spain and Canberra Australia.

With thanks to Jim Doyle at the Jet Propulsion Labs for access.

Reviews & Discussion

Review by Jan 25, 2005 (edited over 7 years ago)
This album is definitely the twin album to S.E.T.I.'s "The Geometry Of Night". Those rhythms & voices, the sounds used ... all very similar. One can hear clearly that Lagowski and Williams have been working closely for a long time. Yin & Yang! ps. I truly hope that Williams will remaster this cd soon as the result of other remastered work is amazing.

Complimentary and allied to Lustmord, the project was given a separate identity in order to differentiate it from Lustmord, as Arecibo is a deliberate alternative, using synthesizers and rhythm as opposed to Lustmord's pure sound design and manipulation.

Many of the sounds on "Trans Plutonian Transmissions" are derived from cosmological activity as recorded by NASA's deep space network
