| Notes: | DREAMS' MUSIC for the most part is spontaneous; it comes together in the rehearsal studio or on the bandstand. DREAMS doesn't rely on formal written arrangements. Most tunes are worked out collectively so that each instrument can speak its own voice in its own way. "...We have our own idea for a horn section sound for this music. Each voice is to be heard for itself- as well as for how it works with the others- a sort of organized jam. It has given us great pleasure to see this music grow and expand with each playing."
IN THE STUDIO the basic tracks were recorded live. That is to say everybody all at once. Not the usual patchwork of rhythm section, then horns, then solos. Most of the tunes you're hearing were done in the first few takes so that we could capture on this recording the truth of spontaneity.
