Listening to this Compilation today is especially rewarding. This kind of minimal Tech-House, that is about to get a bad name due to too many average, always same sounding records, was innovative and special just a few years ago. The EXTRA series is aimed at the Dancefloor and brought back the long dismissed Trance Feel and melodic quality, that was completely erased with the harder Loop Techno and also the experimental Trax. Right from the start the well recognizable Schaffel Beats rule supreme over trancy melodic Tunes by Kompakts best artists. Superpitcher opens this Compilation with the hymnic "Irre" = Crazy or Mad in english, T.Raumschmiere shows us what Musick is all about, Wassermann declares that it is the end of all inhibitance and Michael Mayer even doesn't shy away from using Sade's lyrics of "Love Is Stronger Than Pride". The highlights just doesn't stop until the Voigt Brothers come up with their third Vision in glorious 10 minutes. As a special treat yopu get a 1 minute sample of a german recording from Alfred Hitchcock's movie "Marnie", where Sean Connery plays a rich playboy that wants to cure a mysterious beauty that is deeply mentally disturbed. Here he mentions that he is going to get the whole Bureau painted new - Just about this time Kompakt closed it's old small shop and moved to the new modern shop and headquarter at Werderstrasse. I am still listening to this CD, while i am writing this and the beats are getting stronger and stronger - it is Wassermann that rocks all boundaries .... Real Excellent Package .
