Jazztronik isn't one to let you down if you want some mellow chill out music. "Brisa," the first track on his NUMERO UNO album, is a Brazillian jaunt, one that's continued into "Song of Bebe," with its swirling rhythms and vocals. The fifth track (which has Japanese characters which I can't replicate) is a beautiful example of what lounge magic should be, with its soaring vocals and gentle demeanor. The scat vocals on "Red Line" don't work quite as well, however, but they're oerfectky acceptable. "Turn the Key in the Lock" skitters along on a conplex rhythm, throwing in some horns for muscle. An excellent album all around. Was the above review useful to you? (report)
