Jens Mahlstedt's "Mindcontrol Vol. 1" is - without any doubt - the mother of all electronic dance music compilations.

It was back in 1997 when this masterpiece was decisive for my love for real electronic dance music. "Mindcontrol" contains stuff for every taste: Trance, Hard Trance, Progressive Trance, Acid, Electro, Techno, and every single Track is recorded in excellent sound quality, quality I've never heard on a compilation again. My personal highlight is Minimal Man's "Treatment Feel", one of the most brilliant tracks ever.

The current average rating of 3,4/5 (including my 5/5) is an insult but doesn't surprise me at all.

Anyone who's into that kind of music and doesn't own this release is missing a unique anthology of electronic dance music pearls.

Could a compilation be better? Yes, if I'd compile it myself.
