Reviews & Discussion

I agree... this album is fucking brilliant. introspective and physical at the same time: a future (and present) classic.

no doubt of its dubstep roots, but scuba's music goes further, cross every genre-border and avoid any attempt of being categorized.
from dub-techno to avant-garde hip hop you can find a bunch of influences, especially in this album. however, it has a pronounced identity, a unique feeling all over it, sometimes dubby, sometimes melodic, sometimes nosy. describe music with words is really hard in this cases. listen to it, you won't regret.

Scuba´s album is so good that it hurts! I actually bought the sampler (hardboiled/tell her) first and it was very promising... After hearing the final album I´m almost stunned! So varied soundscapes, deep and haunting voices from the deep, it bears some resemblance to Burials work but still has the voice of it´s own.

There is not that much of those hard hitting party anthems but I could still invent some clever use for some of those tracks in club environment too. Above all this is something where you get sucked in and leave your mind wandering in a dark waters for hours and hours!

Can´t wait to put it back to the plate again!
