This compilation culled mostly from Miles Cleret's enviable collection - focuses on sounds from Nigerian dancefloors in the latter half of the '70s. This CD is probably the closest you're going to get to a club in a rough neighbourhood on the outskirts of Lagos. The bands on the compilation sound influenced by the imported funk and disco records that would've been available, such as the JB’s, Ohio Players and B.T. Express. The horn blowing on "Mota Ginya" by Voices Of Darkness is distinctly Maceo-esque. "Ijere" by Dr. Adolph Ahanotu, Asiko Rock Group's "Lagos City are other notable tracks.
