Notes

Released in a gatefold sleeve with the "Sun Giant" EP as a bonus. Also included is a coupon to download 192kbps MP3s of both records.

We all played many an instrument. An itemized and individualized list would be egotistical and tiresome.

Fleet Foxes (LP):

Recorded at our homes, our friends' homes, our parents' homes, at London Bridge Studio, and at Avast Studio in Seattle, Washington, through the Summer and Fall of 2007. Mastered at RFI in Seattle. Phil Ek produced, engineered, and mixed, except when we were flailing around at home, recording ourselves poorly for him to clean up later. This happened often.

Sun Giant (EP):

It was mostly recorded in early January of 2008 at Bear Creek Studios in Woodinville, Washington. We did additional recording at both our house and at Stuart Hollerman's Avast! Studio, where the EP was also mixed. The handsome Philip M. Ek was the producer, engineer, and mixer. All hate mail may be directed to him. Except mastering hate mail, which can be sent to Ed Brooks at RFI in Seattle, WA.

Now this is some great late summer music! Fleet Foxes debut album on Sub Pop is awesome! The music is folky and dreamy. Take Neil Young, and mix it with the Beach Boys and the Shins... maybe some Iron and Wine in there too. The music reflects nature and peaceful afternoons in the woods. They even have a song called "Blue Ridge Mountains." I knew these guys had class when they chose Bruegel's "The Netherlandish Proverbs" for their album art, but I wasn't expecting such wonderfully autumnal sounds. Now if you would please excuse me, I need to go get lost out in the forest somewhere.
*As a bonus, the LP version of this album comes with the 'Sun Giant EP' on a second disc. Equally beautiful! Excellent!
