Funky 303 house from the man who brought us ‘You Can’t Hide From Your Bud’ launches his new imprint with a bang thanks to this quirky bombastic beat assault. Everything about the production and arrangement of this track is perfectly well established: the bassline and guitar licks are blended sublimely to create a smooth backdrop atop a series of filters, squelches and EQ madness that reinforce the funky guitar, jazzy rhythms and relentless hi-hats. Add a liberal sprinkling of acoustic guitar and it’s reminiscent of lost sessions at Body & Soul.
This is a really good release. All three tracks deserve attention, having unique grooves that make the body move and the mind wonder. I just love to listen to all three songs from time to time.
The A2 and B tracks have really good baselines. A1 has more of a mellow filtery/trippy feel to it (although, still very danceable).
