I do not get the fuss about this record. While both the track selection and the mixing is brilliant, I think that a release of an "Axis Megamix" on vinyl does not make sense. This is underlined by the fact that the mix is faded on A and continued on B. A CD would have been fine, probably as a third Axis compilation after "The Other Day" and "Lifelike", but there is not even an exclusive track on there that would justify such a high value, apart from the fact that it was limited to 100 copies.
The first side of this release has a mix between 'Black Avenger' & 'Time after Space' which is, quite frankly, the nuts. There is a very iffy mix section on Side A2 that has a distinct wiff of too much going on, ala Mills!! WICKED!!
Claude Young is the first person in years to come in and have a release on Jeff Mill's Axis label...besides Jeff Mills of course. Claude came in to this studio session of loops and samples of all the Axis releases, and morphed them into his own version. This is a very limited release world wide and I do not anticipate this having a proper release.
