Great record, both sides equally great IMO.
Side A: The Mandarin Dream Mix is at first a laidback track that oozes 70's funk, though in a new format. Funked up drums and heavy delay make it sound like Dub (Very funky Dub). Spoken word and wah-wah guitar rifs (Delayed) blend right in this colage of sounds. Just over half the record in comes a heavy acid loop to totaly make a blury soup of sounds of this track. Never heard anything like this. Brilliant!!
Side B: The Peaking Duck Mix is a deeper version of the track with entire different bassline and beats, sounding like Underworld could have produced this one. Just taking bits of the spoken word on side A and vocoding them was just right for the balance of this mix. Also here a more mild acid loop kicks in just over half of the record.
This slice of vinyl is PERFECT for people who like freaky funked up house music sounding like a mushroom trip :-)
