Claret's march is, i think, one of the most intelligent neuro track of 2008. Builded for mixing, this song skips from a classical low frequence start to an heavy but simple beat (no hats !), and some stranges & dark shaps. But what give this track such a big power is definitly the bass-line. When it rocks, the bass is just here like a beat support, but some few frames after and you've got one of the most dark, strong sub bass, suchlike neuro can do, and only neuro ! It drops with a syncoped cut, using an half-time beat for an hip-hop break, and start again with a bigger sequence. The only regret of it, in my view, is that this last sequence is just too short. When you flip it, you've got a classical neuro stuff, simple line and simple beat, quiet disapointing actually, but not to forget. Stoppit works good and the variations of the bass line save the track, wich could be boring without it. Once again, Spor using a "The eye" sample, as he did on his Renegade hardware EP : Tactics.
Lifted music keeps making good releases, this one will not change the label story. I particulary like the way that Spor think his tracks, how he breaks them and then make them go again. Science of cutting d'n'b tracks is not dead, thanks a lot !
