As a vinyl collector/dj you become wiser as your collection grows. Im willing to bet that if you look back on your first dozen vinyl purchases youll find a bunch of records that you regret buying. As your collection grows you evolve and hone your selection process to prevent yourself from buying records that you wont care about 6 months later. Tracks that were hot at the time of their release but quickly lose their luster when whatever the "in" sound shifts towards some other easily marketable fad. Really the only way to avoid making such purchases is to seek out records that are made with raw creativity and soul. Records that dont really fit into a particular genre or have gimmicky sounds. Records that, if you didnt know the release date, you would have no way of knowing if this was made now or 15 years ago. Then you find a record like this Lil Tony/Boola release. Complete head noddin body jacking filth on both sides. It is house music in the purest form!
