"Live in Gdansk" is pure bliss for ears. Gilmour, though getting older these days, is still sounding great. His voice just as his guitar sounds is good as ever. This collects most of his "On an Island" material which was a bittersweet affair, and packages all in neatly with plenty of Pink Floyd classic and that is what shines here. For instance, "Shine On you Crazy Diamond".. This version is the most mezmerising version of the song. The synth in the intro is traded with wineglasses playing and the traditional synth kicks in after Davis's opening solo.. then it all breaks down just to the man and his black strat when the 1st verse comes in. Absolutely lovely.
As for the rest, well.. it's great addition to you Floyd collection if you aren't tired of it all. But who is?
This was Rick Wright's final performance on album before he passed away recently. Poor chap.. Take care Rick and give all the best to Syd...
