I totally agree ive always said that since day 1. I thought it was only me aswell The bassline in energy flash is heavy but this one is just haunting and even heavier and i think the angel voices is better alot more haunting too in Substance Abuse. They would sound great both mixed together in my opinion. I just wish all this early music like say from 88 to 93 was as big in clubs today as it was then just not the same these days sad really

F.U.2 sounds a lot like Circuit Breaker - Overkill (also from Hawtin, but then on Probe records). It has the same acid sound, same bassline and same echo sounding claps. Excellent acidic freaky techno.

In my opinion, "Sunstance Abuse" is an answer to Joey Beltram's "Energy Flash". The 2 tracks have very similar basslines, but instead of Ecstasy, the big voice says Overdose in Hawtin track. And after that, you got a kind of acidic requiem with angel voices...
