Personally I think all trancey productions got even more commercial and dancey after this release.

Nyana compiles all the nice tracks from Tijs' own sets from the special early 2000's era. This compilation isn't a massive game changer but it's a nice effort from him. As someone already stated in the comments I also prefer CD2. Fine selection of melodically-wise good tracks.

After all I'm having problems deciding should I give 3/5 or 4/5 to this compilation. (4/5... Tijs be happy! ;D)

I wanna concentrate on the critics from you guys on the choice of songs. First of all, it is good from you to acknowledge that the mixing is perfect. Second is the fact that the choice is in the Dj's hands on what songs to mix. Tiesto has stated in many interviews that he loves romantic/melancholic songs. That is the feeling you are supposed to get when you listen to "Tears from the moon" or "Never" not to mention the unforgettable "As the rush comes" or "Beautiful things". In my opinion these are great songs and the mixing is great. Anyone can choose what he wants. Then "Mistral" is total bang. So is "North Pole" The start of Indoor with "Destiny Sunrise" could not be more suggestive. I think it is a very intelligent mix (especially Indoor, the second CD) and for sure it will not be forgotten very easily.

Somehow this CD got lost in my giant Trance collection so I've just had the pleasure of hearing it and this is what i think: Another gorgeous piece of work by The Man. I have only heard CD1 and there isn't one disappointing track... I love the way it starts out with the "Love Is Stronger Than Pride" daring original beat that Tiesto seams into the first 3 tracks and the CD ends in complete Funk with "GTR's Mistral" making me jones to hear CD2 which will have to be later because I'm playing CD1 again. I can't see much in between for this CD either you're gonna love it or hate it. Depends on how well you can handle a journey this far into space, which side you're on.

I've been a Tiesto fan long before he became the household name for trance music. When I first bought this CD a few years ago I had high expectations. I had a quick listen and was not impressed so I filed the cd away for a while.

Recently I've listened to the complication again. After a greater focus on the cd I must admit that I really enjoy the second CD. I'm still not a fan of CD 1 however CD 2 overall is a solid cd and worth getting the complication.

Very annoyed that the sleeve suggests that CD1 has the Main/Original mix of The Gift's "Love Angel" when in fact upon listening, you will discover it's the M.I.K.E. remix which I think is really dull. But, the rest of the 2CDs is great apart from the shitty percussion-techno which put you off on your first listen! (tracks 1-4 on CD1)

Some of the best mixing Ive ever heard: "Nothing" into "Forever Waiting" then into "As the Rush Comes" = REALLY EUPHORIC!! :) Also: "Tears from the Moon" into "Electronic Malfunction"

The 1st half of CD2 is relaxing yet uplifting so thumbs up here. Glad to see a Darren Tate tune in there as well :) He deserves some attention.

Overall, definately worth having. Shame the 2x12" sampler's got a couple of the worst tunes on it! :(

It's been a while since the set was released, but I'm still compelled to write about. It's definitely one of the most mature and daring Tiesto releases up to date. The first CD starts up with techno and finishes up with intense moody trance that nicely finishes off the set. I wish more DJ's/producers would diversify their sets like this. A few songs are cheesy (especially 2nd CD), but Tiesto's musical taste wins over to make the compilation a warm and different musical adventure.

This CD set dissapointed me -at first. I am a huge Tiësto fan and (at the time) was expecting 20 Gouryella style songs. Except for a few songs, all I heard sounded like techno-trance with almost no melody! I did not get what I wanted and decided not to listen to the album with the exception of Motorcycle's As the Rush Comes.

Soon enough, my younger brother was listening to these two CDs. He introduced me to Holden and Thompson's Nothing(93 Returning Mix. Gradually, I took the time to listen more carefully to the entire album and it has become one of my favorites! I now enjoy listening to the entire CD without skipping any songs.

Two of the songs that I hated but now love are: Love is Stronger Than Pride and Acapulco. I have also grown attached to Electronic Malfunction (I don't know why!)

This set is definitely worth investing in.

I heard alot of different things about Nyana before i got a copy of it, alot of people i knew weren't into it. But i've always had faith in Tiesto's style so i bought the album. This album showcases a different side of Tiesto; i usually don't hear any progressive or tech on his albums, and this is refreshing to know that tiesto as a DJ keeps himself varied.

Disc 1 starts off slow and progresses nicely. A good groover set to set an atmosphere. Disc 2 has a slightly different flavor, but still delivers quality.

The emotional and progressive elements of Tiësto's music have always impressed me. From when I first heard a mix by him, I felt the music, rather than just hearing it blazing out of my sound system or through my headset. Whatever it is that makes Tiësto's sets sound that way really works for me and keeps me coming back. I blindly bought Nyana, not knowing any of the tracks on it, and am still in the aftershock. I can always pop it in and enjoy myself because that emotion is there. The feel that Tiësto works into it really clicks with me. The track selection and flow of track to track is exactly what I look for in a mix, rather than just a DJ's favourite stuff all throw together with transitions. The songs that standout as personal favourites on this 2CD set for me are DJ Tiësto's mix of Tears From The Moon, GTR's Mistral, Andain's Beautiful Things, and the last track, North Pole by Solid Globe. All of these tracks have great melodic concepts and excellent application of the common twists and turns of trance music keeping me glued to the music. In hindsight, I should have known something this great was coming from Tiësto because he has come so far and become a wonderful DJ.

I have to totally disagree. I normally never listen to this kind of music. When I got this CD I didn't expect much out of it but after about a half hour of listening I just couldn't help myself, I huge smile came over my face and I turned the music up. It's pretty cheesy but I just couldn't bring myself to hate this music. It was like a fuzzy, soft stuffed toy. I wouldn't call the mixing perfect though. The beats are of course matched (there's no excuse not to have this in the age of harddrive mixing) but the tracks don't always go into each other well. You can easily spot the transitions.

Great uplifting music for when you wanna feel like hugging everyone around you.
