Dragonfly brings us three remixes of AMP's Forever on this release. While I am a super Shakta fan, I must admit the remix here isn't among my favorites. As of late Shakta has been skirting the line between mainstream tribal-ish progressive and psy-trance (not a bad thing) and this remix seems more on the progressive side of things. Its not a bad track and it sound great, but from a psy dj point of view it would probably only get spun at the beginning or ending periods of a party. The AMP remix is a bit on the psy-progressive side of things and again, while sounding utterly different from the Shakta mix, has some of the same issues in my opinion. Again, its not bad, but I just don't see myself every really spinning this out. The Dai mix is more of the same, but perhaps even more mainstream striking me more as progressive trance than anything. This e.p. is not terrible by any means, but it does seem like an obvious attempt by Dragonfly to try and break into the mainstream club scene, and as a result is a few steps removed from their psychedelic roots.
