Notes

Never fully released.

In January 2005 Rephlex mailed out black vinyl/binder editions of "Analord 10". Due to problems at the manufacturing/mail out stage, approximately 20 buyers did not receive their package. Rephlex mailed out a second batch in June 2005 to those who had not received their order. This second batch included a free copy of "Analogue Bubblebath 5". This distribution of "Analogue Bubblebath 5" was unannounced.

Only a few of the tracks on this album are good, while the rest are pretty generic (probably why it wasn't released). A1 is a solid opening track, and probably the best track on the album. A3 appears to be a 32 second clip of someone walking on leaves or something similar to that. Although it probably will never be widely released, there are authentic mp3s of AB5 on P2P programs in case you want to hear it for yourself.

I can understand why this record was never really released, in comparison to Richard's other work, it is average, with just a few standout tracks. Those standouts for me are A1, a 9 minute opener that could have easily been a favorite of many fans had it been properly released. B2, A slightly darker, more wobbly track, that gives off a certain atmosphere that I can't really describe, not neccisarily because it is heavenly, just odd and nice. And B4, a heavy and skittering beat underlined by a nice flowing string loop, another RDJ favorite of mine. As for the other tracks, they are similar to the one's I've elaborated on, just not as engaging to me. Overall, it feels like a calmer, simpler version of Richard D. James Album, with hints of Melodies From Mars, which is another unreleased album.
