I don't mind contemporary artists sampling great tracks from the past...so long as they do it well. 'Sing About It' is an ab-so-lu-te monster reworking of an old classic 70s Brazilian hit from Burnier & Cartier called 'Mirandolina'.

True there are some slamming beats on this joint. Particularly "Sing about it" with Tracey Vox and KDJ and "Learning to Love" with Monica Blaire. These tracks could be epic cuts for 2009 if they had been properly expanded and presented. On this so called "album" they are really just sketches, surrounded by snippets. This is my real problem with the work - the value is not there, especially at the boutique prices that Mahogani Music releases list for. Times are hard KDJ and Andres, give the people their money's worth. An album that clocks in under 20 minutes is not an album - so don't piss on my head and tell me its raining. 3 stars...

I just cannot stop listening to this LP, it is so fantastic.

With strong elements of soul, broken beat, hip hop and house this truly is the real deal. I do not have much knowledge of Andres or any of his other releases but going by this LP the man is an outstanding artist. I come across this through the Moodymann stuff and I am so glad to have done so.

Get this while you can because from my understanding the Mahogani label only press so many and this is not a record you want missing from your collection.

Breathtaking.
