Tarmvred ‎– Viva 6581

A very unique little release. These 4 tracks are rhythmic noise with 8-bit sounds (think mario bros. theme) thrown in. While this does give it a bit of 80s/early 90s feel.. it more or less adds dance appeal to the music. Track 4 (which is titled 1) stands out big time due to the hard hitting drums combined with those 8-bit bloops... Hopefully Tarmvred will make a full release with these techniques someday.

That nice little album is a great piece of noisy electro. It is as sweet and as sticky as a big melting lollipop, quenching a sugar rush pretty efficiently and leaving a fresh aftertaste in the mouth. It's quite a shift towards electro from an artist otherwise mostly dedicated to more conventional forms of noise, but you will still be able to recognize the influence of previous Tarmvred work on some tracks.

That album intermingles naive and melodic C64-related sonorities with noisy breaks onto a deep bass atmosphere: quite interesting! The rare vocals do have a cheesy commercial flavor, but they are quite relevant to the electro style. If electro and C64 sonorities make you sick in your guts and leave you shaking in despair, that album might not be for you :)
