Ahhh . . . Thievery Corporation, the D.C. dons of dub downtempo. I was always proud growing up in Chocolate City, and when fellow Washingtonians Thievery Corporation released 'Sounds from the Thievery Hi-Fi' in 1996, I had never been more proud of the city that gave the world Hardcore and Go-Go. A seminal first album by one of the most successful independant artists ever. It was all about the dub then, and it's all about the dub now. Dub on brothers! A classic album, indeed. Was the above review useful to you? (report)
