Wow! Stardancer still rates as being in my top 5 techno records of all time. It starts with an excellent bassline, quickly followed by some of the best drum programming I have ever heard. Simple but effective. When the main hook kicks in it takes you to another place. Very spacey. You could well be on MARS.

Lost, Derrick May, 2002..5 or 6am, about that time of night when you can't tell if it's dry ice or cigarette smoke that's creating this haze the laser beams are cutting through. And you're not sure if it's whatever you've taken or the sleep deprivation that's keeping you standing. All of a sudden, you hear those chords that take you back into that world you entered when you first heard that track- and you're there. Then the acid line cuts in and drops, and you're off...Cosmic Movement...And Stardancer- sometimes I feel like it could lift me off the ground. This record is about as "essential" as it gets for fans of UR and Detroit music.

Cosmic Movement is a great tune that has a real sinister intro that creates a real cosmic feeling. This builds and builds til the kick comes in and then track turns into a full on dancefloor monster with a fat 303 bassline. But for me the real gem is STAR DANCER. This song just keeps teasing you. The track starts with a amazing bass sound, then the drums are added. From there it just keeps building until the main synth parts come in and then the track really takes off. For me it creates a feeling like your being spun round and round, but without feeling ill or falling over. And by the time you reach the last parts of the song you cannot help but go crazy . I can say that this is, in my opinion some of the best work to come out of the motor city. If you don't own this record i suggest you make it your next essential purchase.

Cosmic Movement is an outstandingly unearthly beautiful tune. Listen to it (and all quality techno in my opinion) in the dark - I guarantee it will take you somewhere else!
Stardancer - it builds, and builds , and builds , and builds , and builds .... Thank god for life on Mars!
