User Reviews:
scoundrel, May 14, 2004

Max Brennan’s latest incarnation, Nine Yard Orchestra, sees him teaming up with fellow Holistic recording artist Paul Butler, better known as Pnu Riff, and Tom Vernon. On Our Backyard, they deliver more of the electronic-jazz-funk fusion to make your life easier. Tracks like “Features,” have a deliriously peppy sound to keep your head bobbing all day long. “Further Away Than Yesterday” is more delicate and quiet, with simple grace. “Swing into the Light” has a strange timbre that makes it strange and exciting. An odd album, to be sure, but not entirely without merit.
